DescriptionThis section contains photographs and material relating to the death of George Cadbury who died at his home, the Manor House, Northfield, on 24th October 1922 after a short period of illness. George Cadbury died in the company of his second wife Elizabeth Taylor Cadbury and his personal physician just as the signal was sounded for home time at the Cadbury Works in Bournville.

George Cadbury's Memorial Service was held on Bournville Village Green at two o'clock on Saturday 28th October 1922. The location of the service celebrated George Cadbury's enthusiasm for the rural outdoors and allowed thousands of people to congregate and celebrate his life in the village which he developed around the Cadbury chocolate manufactory in the late nineteenth century.
